About Us

Who We Are

We’re glad you’re here. At Harvest Tabernacle our sole purpose is to be a spiritual home for all who seek to find healing and redemption in our Lord Jesus Christ. This is a place where you can worship God freely, love and be loved, be fed with the pure word of God, and use your gifts and talents to serve the body of Christ. This ministry seeks to explain biblical truths (teach) and speak forth (preach) the word of God without compromise because we believe that it is in the word that we receive life, illumination, and freedom. As the scriptures have said, “In Him was life and the life was the light of world and the light shines in the darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:4) Also we learn from the word that “ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). It doesn’t matter what season of life you may be in, whether in the summer or harsh cold of winter. It doesn’t matter what time of the day you are in. whether in the brightness of noon time when the sun sheds its beautiful rays, or at night when darkness is the order and uncertainty clouds your thoughts. Jesus longs to shine his light into your life. Jesus longs to set you free and give you hope. Here at Harvest Tabernacle our sole purpose is to be vessels through which the Lord can do just that and to build you up in the faith so that God can use you to bring the brightness of day into someone else’s life.

Our Pastor, Derick Awotwe, would like to welcome you to our site and share our vision and mission with you.

Vision

Vision Statement

“And the LORD answered me, and said, write the vision, and make itplain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.” Habakkuk 2:2

Reaching the World for Christ – Preaching Christ to all nationalities, cultures, ethnic groups and people from all walks of life. Presenting to them the trifold healing that is in Jesus Christ namely healing for the spirit, healing for the soul and healing for the body. Availing ourselves to be vessels through which all can experience the healing power that belongs to those who receive Him (Jesus). Isaiah 53:5 but He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the punishment of our peace was upon Him and with his stripes we are healed.

Mark 16:15- Reaching Out

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature

Empowering the believer to live life abundantly- It is our vision to communicate and demonstrate the power of God through Christ Jesus and to endow the believer to live the abundant life that Christ Jesus has purchased for him/her.

Romans 1:16 – The Power of the Gospel

I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile

John 1:12- Walking in the Power of God

But as many as received him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Discipleship – Leading people to follow Christ even as we follow Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 11:1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

John 14:12 Verily, Verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also: and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father

Core Values

The Holy Bible

The Holy Bible is the Word of God – originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (II Timothy 3:16). We believe The Bible is the sole authority in the Christian faith

One True God

We believe in one God who expresses Himself in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.

Redemption

The fall of man and his need for Redemption (Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-7, Romans 3:23-24)

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross on Mt. Calvary, resurrected from the dead on the third day and ascended to heaven to present his blood as the once and for all atonement for the sin of all mankind and is seated at the right hand side of God Interceding for all saint. (John 1:14, Luke 1:26-38, Hebrews 4:15, John 2:11, Luke 24:39, John 1:29, Acts 1:9-11)

Salvation

We believe that faith in Christ and Christ alone is the means of becoming a Child of God and therefore a part of the Kingdom of God. John 14:6- Jesus answered, “I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me

Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Ghost and the fact that he is at work in every believer seeking to bring to pass the plans of God. We believe in the gifts of the Holy ghost and that all the gifts of the holy ghost are still at work in the lives of willing believers today {Diversities of Tongues, Interpretation of tongues, Discernment of Spirits, Faith, Gifts of healing, Working of Miracles, Word of Knowledge, Word of Wisdom, prophecy} 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

Gifts of Jesus Christ

We believe in the gifts of Jesus Christ as spoken of in Ephesians 4:11- Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, pastors and teachers. These offices have been popularly referred to us the fivefold ministry and we believe in developing believers to embrace their calling

Heaven, Hell & The Lake of Fire

We believe in Heaven, Hell and the Lake of Fire. We believe that Christ has prepared a place for all whose names are written in the lamb’s book of life and that place is heaven. That Hell is an actual place of Torment where those who die without Christ await their final judgment. That the Lake of fire is the final destination of the Devil, Demons and all those in Hell and those on earth who refuse to accept the redemptive work of Christ on their behalf.

Eternal Judgement

We believe in the eternal Judgment “that all will be judged”. The unbelievers/sinners unto condemnation [The Great White Throne Judgment] and the believers unto life and rewards [The Beamah Seat of Christ]

Baptism

We believe in Baptism by emersion as Jesus was baptized. That Baptism is a symbol of the redemptive work of Christ and when one is immersed it symbolizes death and burial with Christ and when one rises out of the water it symbolizes resurrection from the dead. It is demonstrative of the cleansing of one’s spirit by the word of God. “and the bringing back to life of a dead spirit (salvation)”. That Baptism in itself does not save a person and that one must believe in their heart and confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus in order to be saved. Romans 10:9, 10 that a person must reach maturity and actually confess Christ as their savior before they are baptized.

Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the dead. The believer to everlasting life and the unbeliever to eternal separation from God and eternal death. That when Christ shall return, the dead in Christ shall rise first and shall be taken away with Christ. That at the judgment of unbelievers the dead both small and great who do not have Christ shall rise and stand before the mighty God to be judged according to their works

Prayer

We believe in Prayer as a means of communicating with God and God with us. That all believers can pray to God directly in the name of Jesus and do not need any other human intermediary. That one can both pray in understanding and also in Tongues

Laying-on of Hands

We believe in the Laying on of hands to impart blessing, healing, a spiritual gift, to set apart for ministry, set apart for leadership, and to transfer authority

The Lord's Supper

We believe in the participation in the Lord’s Supper through receiving the communion elements and all they represent. (Luke 22:19, I Corinthians 11:23-26)

Lifestyle & Worship

Right living, giving, and loving others are a vital part of worship. (Hebrews 12:14, Proverbs 3:9, Malachi 3:8-10, Luke 6:38, Hebrews 7:8, Matthew 22:36-40; 23:23)
